Be picked in Saigon and drive to the My Thuan Bridge. Board your Song Xanh Sampan and set off for a leisurely cruise on the busy waterways leading to the Mekong Delta. Then stop along the way to visit a Cao Dai Temple, welcome drinks are served.
Arrive in Sa Dec and take a shore excursion to the Buddhist nuns’ monastery of Phuoc Hue, a wonderfully peaceful provincial monastery where young girls learn the teachings of Buddhism. After a stroll around the flower nursery gardens (for which Sa Dec is famous), re-board the boat and enjoy a Vietnamese lunch. We’ll cruise along narrow canals off the beaten path past pristine countryside scenes, lush gardens, children on bicycles… the daily life of the river people. Stop to visit a small local village, meeting the villagers and get a glimpse of their daily life.
Disembark at Vam Cong Jetty in Long Xuyen. One-and-a-half-hours drive will take you through the countryside to the bustling gateway town of Chau Doc. Choose to stop at either Victoria Chau Doc Hotel on the banks of the Bassac River or at Victoria Nui Sam Lodge, a charming mountain retreat nestled on Sam Mountain.
